As a survivor of domestic violence I want to join my tiny voice to the millions of others out there so we become #onevoice, #onevoice raising awareness to domestic violence, rape, child abuse, human trafficking, the list is endless. Almost every day I see a new story breaking in the media, stories of historical sex abuse, victims of domestic violence, murder, rape, again the list is endless, a sad but true fact.

One in three women are affected by domestic violence, 2 women die every week, hundreds and thousands of children are living their childhoods surrounded by violence and abuse.  WHEN WILL IT STOP?  WHEN WILL THE ABUSERS STOP?

I strongly feel that education and knowledge are the key.  There are some wonderful organisations/charities and people out there, like minded people who only want to help, their sole wish to perhaps feel at peace even if it is only for a short while.

Whilst conversing with a fellow tweeter @flamingjune my dream suddenly seemed real and so #worldwidepeaceday was born.

My dream is for people to meet in every town in every city in every country of the world and join their voices to raise awareness for ALL forms of abuse.  This could also be a very valuable opportunity to raise money for charities etc - I'm thinking something similar to Comic Relief where individuals/small groups/organisations etc organise fund raising activities and then donate the money to the charity of their choice.

THIS DREAM CAN BECOME A REALITY.  I never thought I would ever be a survivor but here I am, standing tall and proud and shouting from the rooftops.

 I was lucky enough to walk away, millions don't! 

 PLEASE JOIN ME, PLEASE HELP MY DREAM BECOME A REALITY THIS REALLY COULD BE EPIC IF WE ALL #STANDTOGETHER AS #ONEVOICE.

I would love this to go viral but most of all I would love for every school in the world to participate in this day, imagine the knowledge and education that could be past on, imagine what this opportunity could do to change the future. Now I am a realistic person, I know that abuse will not suddenly vanish but if we can educate others, raise awareness and improve the financial status of the charities that work tirelessly to help others then it would be a very positive start.I have created a Facebook page for this day and I hope you will take a minute to click on the Facebook link and like the page.
